An Electic Music Benefit for Shuter Library
Festival Eclectica was founded in 2018 as a benefit for the Shuter Library of Angel Fire, an idyllic ski village nestled in the Moreno Valley of Northern New Mexico's storied Enchanted Circle. From its outset the festival's goal was to not only raise needed funds for the library, but to also create an eclectic music event featuring national and regional acts from across the musical landscape. A festival embracing ALL genres, and hence, NO genres! An event, co-produced with the non-profit, New Mexico-based arts organization Avokado Artists, that expanded, enhanced and underscored the library's mission.
In its inaugural year, Festival Eclectica presented award-winning acts ranging from, Americana to World, Latin to Pop to Zydeco. Its 2nd edition furthers the festival's promise with more award-winning acts from the worlds of Blues, Afropop, Folk, Indie Rock and Latin music
What Does the Library Do For The Community?
Shuter Library has been a key resource to Moreno Valley and the Village of Angel Fire longer than the Village has been incorporated.
The Library provides 10,000 books, 3,000 ebooks, WiFi, computers, language lessons, children’s programs, book clubs, book reviews, author events, and more to the community.
Shuter Library is a privately-funded public library, and like many worthwhile causes, constantly struggles for money. Festival Eclectica is a benefit to keep the library financially healthy while creating a destination event for the community, region and beyond.
